Five questions to Suedehead

logo

 1) First of all, can you tell us what's the story of  the band ?

The band is kind of made up of an all-star line up. We all come from different bands of all sorts of music. Members are: singer/ song writer/ guitar- Davey Warsop (Beat Union), keys/ organ- Greg Kuehn (TSOL, Berlin), drums- Korey Kingston (The Aggrolites, Hepcat, See Spot), guitar Chris "the general" Bradley (The Distraction), Nic Rodriguez (Fallborn).  The majority of us are from southern California, with the exception of Davey, who now lives in So Cal, but is originally from Birmingham England. We have been together now for almost a year (give or take).

2)By the way, why did you call yourselves Suedehead ? In others terms is that a tribute to Morrissey or clearly a post skinhead reference ?

We call ourselves Suedehead because that is the name of our band. There is no other reference but that for us.

3) You're fisrt EP In motion is fuelled up with pop and soul energy, that reminds us a lot of English band of the 80ies like The Jam or The Redskins, so what are your biggest musical influences ?

Our biggest influences are Motown, northern soul, the jam, Elvis Costello, Joe Jackson just to name a few. We also have our own personal influences too as individual musicians. You can see by the bands we all come from and have played with, there are very diverse tastes and styles from the players in the band. But that is what makes us have our sound. We all grew up listening to this kind of music. we all love "feel good" music. So we are just playing what we know and love.

4) Who's the girl dancing like if she's in the Wigan Casino in your video Can't Stop ?

The girl is Natalie Miller. She is fantastic at whatever she doing at the time! She is a local actress/ dancer/ musician from LA.. Korey has worked with her on some Aggrolites videos in the past. We were looking for someone that really knew how to dance (northern soul style). I think we made the right choice. That girl can get down!

 5) What's next ? Are you planning to cross the Atlantic in a nearby future ?

Next we are working on putting out some more records, more videos, and live shows, all coming VERY soon. We will be coming out there soon. Keep checking the Suedehead facebook, myspace, andTwitter for updates!

It can be done
